Qigong & Tai Chi Yang style Mainland 24 was created in 1956 by a symposium of tai chi masters brought together by the Chinese government. It is an introductory level form taught to beginners that takes 5 to 7 minutes to perform. The 64, aka Guang Ping Yang style or Original Style is a more strenuous intermediate/advanced level form that takes 15 to 20 minutes to perform on one side. It represents a transition from the "hard" Chen style to the "soft" Yang style, containing primarily soft, slow movements with occassional fast, explosive movements. |
